Half Ass Keto Approach
Short and simple...
***I AM NOT A DOCTOR....THIS IS JUST WHAT I DO***
WHAT I DO:
- I track my food intake daily through MyFitnessPal
- Keep track of my NET carbs & I stay between 20-30g per day.
I have a IIFYM (if it fits your macros) approach to keto. I don't eat excess sugar. That does not mean that I don't eat sugar or have an occasional 'treat'. I have far too much going on in my life to worry or be upset with myself over every single item I put into my mouth.
- I drink a lot of water. I think "they" (whoever they is) say you should drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day. I shoot for that, but let's be honest....I don't get near enough in.
- I try to stay away from drinks with sugar & caffeine & carbonation. Carbonation & caffeine both work hand in hand & trick your brain into thinking you're hungry when you really aren't. Sugar is.....sugar.
- I try to exercise a couple of times per week. Nothing crazy here. I chase a 3 year old around daily.
- I take vitamins + supplements...
Plexus Slim - helps with gut health, energy, sugar balance & a vast variety of other things.
Mega X - omega 3 fatty acids.
ProBio 5 - probiotics necessary for gut health - helps with digestion, etc.
XFactor Plus - multivitamin with a ton of B specific vitamins
VitalBiome - help my mood, reduces GI distress, and rebalances your gut microflora
WHAT I DON'T DO:
- Stress myself about about macros & getting everything right.
- Stress my family out because I'm worried I'm going to fail at something.
- Deprive myself.
WHY I TAKE USE VITAMINS + SUPPLEMENTS:
- The long + short of it is they make me feel better. I feel better when I take the combination above than I do when I don't. My blood work is better when I take supplements than when I don't. It was suggested to me that it would help me on my journey to becoming healthier (not just weight wise, but overall) + I can honestly say it has.
